I am a vegetarian and I'm 16 so I have less potency behind my own. there's and essay by Alan Watts that i feel you might appreciate. It's called "Murder in the Kitchen" he was a philosopher in the mid twentieth century who taught eastern philosophy. I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought of it while reading your piece.
